About our website

This website provides information about Spanish Language Center — a Spanish-language school for adults and professionals in San Diego — including our courses, levels, tuition, events, and how to get in touch. Enrollment, class arrangements, and pricing are confirmed directly with the school and may change over time.

Use of the site

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict the use and enjoyment of, anyone else. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, its servers, or connected systems, or interfere with its normal operation.

Talking to Jalapeño, our AI

Jalapeño is our AI character. He answers the chat bubble on this website, he answers the school’s phone line, and he is the Spanish tutor inside the Student Portal. He is an AI in all three places. He is not a member of staff and he is not a person.

The phone line tells you this at the start of every call, and calls may be recorded. What we store from these conversations, and who at the school can read it, is set out in our Privacy Policy at spanishlanguagecenter.com/privacy-policy.

AI can be wrong. Jalapeño can misunderstand you, and he can give you an answer that is incomplete or simply wrong. He is not a substitute for a human teacher or for the school office. Anything that matters — prices, schedules, enrollment, your account, your progress — should be confirmed with a member of staff before you rely on it. Nothing Jalapeño says creates a booking, a place in a class, a price, or any other commitment by the school.

Intellectual property

Everything on this site is ours. That includes the text, the graphics, the logos, the photographs, the page design and layout, and the Spanish Language Center name.

It also includes Jalapeño. The Jalapeño character, his name, his artwork and illustrations, his voice, and his persona — the way he talks and behaves — are original works of Spanish Language Center. So are the conversations he produces: the replies he writes in the website chat, the words he speaks on our phone line, and the tutoring he gives inside the Student Portal.

It also includes the software. The Spanish Language Center website, the Student Portal, our mobile app, and the systems behind them are our property or are licensed to us.

All of it is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, adapt, or use any of it commercially — and you may not use the Jalapeño character, name, artwork or persona in any way — without our written permission. If you would like permission, ask us; the answer is often yes.

Student portal accounts

If you are given access to the Student Portal, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Text messages

If you opt in to our text message program, Spanish Language Center Notifications, separate terms apply. They are set out in our SMS Terms & Conditions at spanishlanguagecenter.com/sms-terms, and the way we handle your mobile information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Visiting them is at your own risk.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, but we provide it “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Course details, schedules, and pricing shown on the site are for general information and are confirmed at enrollment. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spanish Language Center will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes take effect when we post them, and we will revise the effective date above. Your continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any disputes will be handled by the courts located in San Diego County, California.
