Biography
Luz Hutchins established Spanish Language Center as a continuation of her lifelong career, which began in Mexico as an elementary school teacher. Her dream as a little girl was always to be a teacher. She became an elementary school teacher at an early age and worked in her home town as a 6th grade teacher.
After getting married she started working in San Diego as a Spanish Instructor. In 1986, with all her experience in the field, Luz developed a unique interactive and visual method of teaching that enables students to be successful in their goals.
She is also the author of the Structure and Conversational books used at the school. According to our students, SLC is the best and the most beautiful place to study the Spanish language in San Diego.
Teaching
Luz teaches with the interactive, visual method she developed at Spanish Language Center in 1986 — the approach the whole school still uses today.
Her lessons work through the Structure and Conversational books she wrote for the school, taking students from first words to genuine, confident conversation.
